Since our founding in 1928 by George H. Deaton, Deaton-Kennedy has been family owned and
operated. Originally a producer of kitchen, farm, lumber, and bank calendars, Deaton-Kennedy
quickly produced its first religious calendar. Soon thereafter the company realized there was a
market for more sophisticated visitation registration books at funeral homes and in late 1928
the first memorial record book was produced.
As the industry grew so did the success of Deaton-Kennedy and in time the corporate vision turned
to focus almost exclusively on funeral supplies. The company continued to manufacture calendars
and funeral service products until 1969. At the end of that year, Deaton-Kennedy sold its last
calendar rights and has specialized in the funeral supply business ever since.
The Deaton-Kennedy Company proudly welcomed the fourth generation of the Deaton family to our
organization as we celebrated our 80th anniversary. As always, it is our commitment to serve the
funeral profession to the very best of our ability.
